The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) which administers the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - Undergraduate (NEET UG) counselling has issued a notice for the candidates claiming NRI status. Candidates who want to get their nationality converted from Indian to NRI can submit their application to ug.nri.mcc@gmail.com.
NEET examination scores, students are allocated seats in different colleges across the country. However, it is necessary for them to clear NEET. Apart from the 15 per cent All India Quota (AIQ) and 85 per cent State Quota, deemed universities in India offer admission to NRI students under 15 per cent NRI quota reserved by the Medical Council of India. both, Persons of Indian Origin (POI) and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) are included in the NRI Quota.
Eligibility Criteria for NRI Students
Here are the eligibility requirements that NRI students for MBBS colleges in India.
1. Applicants must be holding a valid passport
2. The seats offered under NRI Quota will only be allocated to bonafide NRI’s
3. Candidates must have qualified NEET 2022
4. Candidates applying under NRI sponsorship must have a real blood relation to the financial supporter, be it the mother, sister, father, brother, aunt or uncle.

Non-Objection Certificate issued by the Ambassador/ competent authority of the candidate’s country to allow their stay and study in India.
Along with the documents attached, applicants will also have to mail an undertaking saying that they are applying for conversion of category from Indian to NRI for the NEET UG Counselling, 2021 and they have cleared NEET-UG Examination, 2021 and are eligible for the MCC NEET Counselling.
