Nehru college of educational and charitable trust, established at an auspicious moment in the year 1968, with the primary objective of rendering selfless, dedicated and yeomen service to cause of higher education originally in the field of aeronautical engineering and subsequently in the other engineering branches, management, arts, science and paramedical sciences and has added feather after feather to its cap. The trust was headed by late P K Das a well-known educationist and a great industrialist

Over the period of four decades it has established and patronized a number of prestigious educational institutions, all of which have grown to the stature of being accredited with ISO certification by the international certificate services.

Nehru College of Aeronautics and Applied Sciences is a collaborative institution of Alagappa university, Karaikudi and Lincoln University College, Malaysia and one of the renowned colleges in Tamil Nadu offering under graduate and post graduate programs to aspirants for the aviation industry.

This college also takes up the pride of being recognized by the Directorate general of civil aviation for the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering programme.This is the first institute in South India that is approved by the DGCA for conducting the AME programme in mechanical, Avionics and helicopter streams.

About the Course

Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME) are primarily responsible for keeping the Aircraft in an airworthy condition and issue certificate of airworthiness before the take –off. Airworthiness of such vital components is being certified by Aircraft Maintenance Engineer holdings AME Licences in the respective trades.

The institution is approved under category 'G' for imparting instructions to AME trainees and the training imparted herein is recognised by the Director General of Civil Aviation, Government of India, New Delhi.
