Dr. Zakir Husain Institute, Patna has been established in the year 1979 with the help of prominent academicians, social workers, philosophers, planners and administrators, management thinkers educationists as an autonomous, non-profit making, Institute for training, research and studies in the areas of education (formal and non-formal), management, computer science, mass communication and rural development. The activities of the institute include training, research, publications, conference organization, consultancy and conduct of specialized technical and vocational academic programmes through formal and distance education besides organization and implementation of programmes having a positive, social, educational, cultural and economic content in order to ensure the optimum development of Indian Societies.The Institute was established in the year 1979 and inaugurated by Dr. A.R.Kidwai, Governor of Bihar on 18th April 1982 at Raj Bhavan, Patna.
