MS General Surgery is a 3-year post-graduate course. The program includes a balance of practical sessions and theoretical lectures that imparts knowledge on surgical treatment of abdominal organs including the liver, stomach, colon, intestines esophagus, thyroid gland, and hernia.
Students under this programme are prepared to carry out diagnostic procedures along with prevention and treatment. Upon completion of the programme, the aspirants gain the ability to practice the specialty of surgery in keeping with the principles of professional ethics. In addition to mastering clinical expertise, the programme equips students with the skills to manage the patients of trauma effectively.

Eligibility Criteria for MS General Surgery
1. As per MCI Guidelines Must be NEET Qualified.
2. Completed an MBBS from a medical college that is recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or any of the state-council boards and should have completed a 1-year internship.
3. Secured at least 50% of aggregate marks in graduation.
4. Upon graduation, it is mandatory to pass through the national or state level Medical entrance exams.
Admission Process
1. Selection will be made entirely on the basis of merit in the NEET-PG entrance examination and the choice of subject will be allocated on the basis of personal counseling by All India /State Counseling.
2. The minimum percentage of marks in the entrance test for eligibility for admission to Postgraduate courses shall be 50 % for all candidates and for SC, ST, Category-I & OBC the eligibility will be 40%.
