MD Emergency Medicine is a 3-year doctorate-level program. Emergency medicine is a medical field of practice based on the knowledge and skills required for the prevention, diagnosis, and management of acute and urgent aspects of illness and injury affecting patients of all age groups with a full spectrum of undifferentiated physical and behavioral disorders.
The curriculum includes a large amount of general medicine and surgery including the surgical sub-specialties. The course gives a broad field of knowledge and advanced procedural skills in various fields like surgical procedures, trauma resuscitation, advanced cardiac life support, and advanced airway management.
Physicians who specialize in emergency medicine may practice in hospital emergency departments, pre-hospital settings, via emergency medical services, other locations where initial medical treatment of illness takes place, and in the intensive-care unit.

Eligibility Criteria for MD Emergency Medicine
1. Candidate must have completed MD studies from an MCI-recognized central/state university.
2. A minimum aggregate score of 55% (relaxable for SC/ST/OBC candidates) at the Post-graduation is required.
3. Candidate must have passed the final year exams before the commencement of the course For final year MD candidates only.
Admission Process
1. Admissions to the course are based on the common entrance test-based procedure as well as a separate entrance exam conducted by the respective medical college/university.
2. The student/aspirants have to qualify NEET-PG with the required cutoff percentile in individual category i.e. for general 50th percentile and 40th percentile for SC, ST, and OBC to get admission.
3. Some of the reputed institutes conduct an entrance examination for admission.
