Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech Aerospace Engineering (Lateral Entry)
1. The candidates who possess the Diploma in Engineering / Technology awarded by the State Board of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu or its equivalent are eligible to apply for admission to the third semester of B.Tech in the branch corresponding to the branch of study.
2. Applicants must achieve at least 50% to 60% of the points in the relevant proficiency tests.
3. Eligibility conditions for candidates from SC/ST/OBC/PwD categories will be 45% marks in the qualifying examinations.
4. Applicants must not be younger than 17 at the time of application.
JEE Main: The JEE Main examination is the most popular entrance examination for engineering students of India. Of late, the examination is being held twice a year in the months of January and April.
JEE Advanced: The JEE Advanced examination is for those students who wish to become a part of the IITs, CFTIs and NITs of India. The JEE Main shortlisted candidates will be eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced examination.
WBJEE: West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination is the state-level examination for the engineering aspirants of West Bengal. The examination is conducted once every year in the month of February.
VITEEE: Vellore Institute of Technology conducts an entrance test every year for admitting students to the various courses offered by the institute.
Admission Process
1. Colleges publish admission notices on their website from June when most Indian universities would have finished degree exams.
2. Candidate to apply for each college, as each college considers each mark the cut-off mark.
3. Some private colleges and deemed universities perform their counselling process by conducting their university-level entrance exams.
4. Some colleges require a minimum of 50% aggregate in the qualifying examination.
5. Candidates who qualify for the test are called for an interview before the final seat allotment.
6. Some of the entrance exams for BTech are JEE Main, WBJEE, JEE Advanced, KCET etc.
