The fundamental purpose of yoga is to foster harmony in the body, mind, and environment. Bachelor of Science in Yoga or B.Sc in Yoga is a three-year undergraduate course offering a mixture of yoga and management skills.
What is Yoga?
Yoga is an ancient system of physical and mental practices that originated during the Indus Valley civilization in South Asia. Yoga is essentially a spiritual discipline based on an extremely subtle science, which focuses on bringing harmony between mind and body. It is an art and science of healthy living.
In B.Sc. Yoga training focuses more on practical sessions. The course's goal is to open teaching, research, instruction, and entrepreneurship options. The curriculum of the course combines classical yoga theory with methods specific to modern lifestyles.
Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc Yoga
1. Candidates need to pass the 10+2 examination with a minimum of 50% marks from any recognized education board. In India, most colleges offer admission based on two different methods i.e. entrance base and merit base.
2. In some colleges, candidates must also appear for the State/ College / University entrance test.
Admission Process
1. Reputed institutes rely on a merit-based admission process. Such institutes make use of relevant entrance tests to select deserving candidates.
2. Some institutes are also known to conduct their own qualifying test in order to select deserving candidates.
