B.Sc Renal Dialysis Technology is a three-year course. Dialysis technicians work closely with Nephrologists and carry out regular dialysis and various preparatory procedures including the sterilization and maintenance of machines for patients with chronic renal failure awaiting renal transplant. They play an important role in ameliorating the sufferings of such patients and help in improving the quality of their life.
Renal Dialysis Technology is a branch of paramedical science that deals with the study of the process of treating and removing excess water, solutes, and toxins from the blood of patients whose kidneys can no longer perform normal functions clearly. This is an ever-expanding field and there are a large number of patients in need of such care in the country and in the world.
The main goal of the Dialysis programme is to generate competent technicians who are completely efficient in making a significant impact on the life or death of someone suffering from renal failure. The programme combines theory, practice, and clinical exposure to provide theoretical understanding. Human anatomy and physiology, renal illnesses, other important disorders, blood chemistry, and other topics are commonly covered in this curriculum.
