The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2023 were released by the Minister of State for Education and External Affairs, Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, on June 5, 2023. AIIMS Delhi secured the top spot, Chandigarh's PGIMER, Christian Medical College, Vellore and Bangalore's NIMHANS also retained their second, third and fourth spot, respectively.
Jawaharlal Institute of Post-Graduate Medical Education & Research jumped up with one position and has secured sixth rank. Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow secured the seventh rank this year. This year, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) slipped from the fifth to the eighth position.
About NIRF Ranking
NIRF stands for National Institutional Ranking Framework. It was approved and launched by the Honourable Minister of Human Resource Development on September 29, 2015. It is a framework that outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country. The NIRF Ranking is advantageous to students preparing to pursue higher education in India in knowing the ranking of institutes.
