In the event that you pass the NEET exam, you will have to attend NEET counselling. Candidates will get admitted to Medical colleges any place in India through NEET counselling. On the basis of the All India Rank of the candidate and their choice of college, the seats will be allocated.
If you qualified NEET (qualifying cutoff varies according to candidate's category), you are eligible for counselling from both ALL INDIA QUOTA (AIQ) & your respective State quota (SQ). You have to register and then fill counseling form for both AIQ & state quota, on the respective dates of their release.
When the results are declared, if you are allotted a seat, download your allotment letter (which will be available on MCC website after a few days of allotment results), report to your respective college and complete your admission formalities.

Eligibility Criteria for NEET Counselling
1. Candidates qualifying NEET Exam are eligible to apply for counselling.
2. Candidates with a minimum of 50th percentile (40th percentile for SC/ ST/ OBC and 45th percentile for general-physically handicapped) in NEET will be considered qualified for the exam.
3. Further, the ministry releases a list of qualified candidates under All India Quota excluding candidates from Jammu and Kashmir to take part in 15% AIQ Counselling.
4. Candidates have to register themselves on the MCC website to become eligible for the counselling process.
NEET Counselling Rounds
NEET AIQ Counselling is conducted in 4 rounds- first, second, and mop-up rounds followed by a stray vacancy round for vacant seats if any. MCC releases NEET admission cut-off (opening and closing ranks) after every round of counselling.
NEET Seat for each round of counselling is released by MCC on the official website. OCI candidates can now apply under the Open Category seats at par with Indian citizens. Earlier, they could apply under the NRI quota category only.
NEET Counselling For 15% All India Quota
1. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Government of India holds the Counselling for 15% All India Quota Seats.
2. 100% deemed, central universities will participate in online MCC NEET counselling 2022.
3. Seats of ESIC and AFMC, BHU & AMU will also be filled through 15% AIQ NEET Counselling.
4. According to DGHS instructions, candidates will apply for 15% of All India Quota seats and seats left vacant after two rounds.
5. Counselling will be adjusted in mop-up round. Those candidates who participate in All India Counselling can also participate in State Counselling of their respective states.
NEET Counselling For 85% of State Quota Seats
1. For State quota and all private college seats, candidates may apply to their domicile states and a merit list as per State rules and based on All India Rank will be prepared by concerned Counselling Authorities.
2. Counselling for Private Medical Colleges is also conducted by the concerned State Counselling Authority.
3. Candidates need to register on their concerned state’s counselling websites.
4. Counselling will be conducted on the basis of the candidate’s rank in the state merit list.
5. Admission to colleges in J&K, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will be done solely on the basis of state counselling.

Mode of NEET counselling
Depending on the state and central authorities, NEET Counseling may be conducted online or offline. Those participating in online counselling will have to complete online forms and follow an online process. Candidates participating in the offline counselling must directly report to the respective venues.
The Process of NEET Counselling
MCC will conduct NEET-UG 2022 counselling for AIQ in four rounds, including a mop-up round and a stray vacancy round. Following the completion of Round 2, the remaining seats will be filled in a mop-up round and a stray vacancy round by the MCC.
Step 1: Complete the MCC NEET registration process, including payment.
Step 2: NEET 2022 counselling choice filling and locking
Step 3: Round 1 seat allotment and result announcement
Step 4: Reporting to the allotted Medical/Dental College (option for free entry/exit)
Step 5: Round 2 net vacant seats are published.
Step 6: NEET counselling round 2 registration (not necessary for already registered candidates) and fresh choice filling for NEET counselling round 2
Step 7: Round 2 of seat allocation (exit with forfeiture of security amount option available)
Step 8: Reporting to medical/dental colleges/institutions in preparation for round 2 (once admitted, candidates cannot leave their seats).
