Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) 2022-2023 is an opportunity offered to students pursuing bachelor's and master's degrees in the science stream. KVPY means “Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana”, which is a national fellowship program. This fellowship is granted to the selected students who are interested in pursuing research in basic Science.
Indian Institute of Sciences (IISc) Bangalore conducts an aptitude test annually for finding the best students across the country. You are eligible for this program if you are a student from class 11th to 1st year of any undergraduate program in Basic Sciences namely B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S. in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
The “Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana” (KVPY) is a program started in 1999 by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. The selected candidates will receive a scholarship of up to INR 7,000 per month and a contingency grant (equivalent to four months of fellowship per annum).

Eligibility Criteria for Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY)
1. Students who have passed X Standard Board Examination and are eligible to enrol in XI Standard (Science Subjects) during the academic year 2021-22, are eligible to appear for the aptitude test.
2. The student should produce a study certificate of XI class once they are selected as a provisional KVPY fellow. Moreover, the fellowship of the students selected under this stream will be activated only if they join an undergraduate course in Basic Science (B. Sc./B.S./B. Stat./B. Math./ Int. M.Sc./ Int. M.S.) in the academic year 2023-24 after having secured a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST & PWD) marks in aggregate in SCIENCE Subjects in the XII Standard Board Examination.
3. During the interim period of one year, they will be invited to the National Science Camp (Vijyoshi) and their travel expenses and local hospitality will be met by KVPY.

Application Form for KVPY
1. The application form for the KVPY scholarship has been released in July.
2. Students will have to fill out the form online through the official website.
3. Registration is the first step to applying for the KVPY scholarship followed by filling in the application form, documents submission and paying the fees.
4. Students who fill out the form successfully will be able to download KVPY admit card.
Application Process for KVPY
Step1: Go to the KVPY website.
Step2: Click on the link of the KVPY admit card, and register yourself using a genuine email id and phone number.
Step3: You have to fill in all your academic details.
Step4: Upload your photo and signature.
Step5: Pay online the application fee, now remember to download your application form for future purposes.
Documents Required to Fill the KVPY Application
1. One scanned passport-sized photograph (JPG/JPEG or PDF format). Remember while uploading the image size should not exceed 150 kb.
2. One scanned signature with image size less than 80 kb.
3. Caste certificate - scanned copy (if applicable).
4. For PWD candidates, a PDF of the medical certificate.
Examination Pattern
KVPY Fellowship Exam Mode: A computer-based online version of the aptitude Test will be conducted in the selected cities.

KVPY Scholarship 2022-23 - Amount Details
Students selected for the KVPY fellowship will have to send an email to KVPY officials at fellowship.kvpy@iisc.ac.in to intimate about their admission to the UG course.
For SA/SX/SB stream, the selected fellow will receive a monthly stipend of INR 5,000 and an annual contingency grant of INR 20,000 during the 1st to 3rd years of B.Sc./ B.S./ B.Stat./B.Math./M.S./ Integrated M.S. degree.
The fellows in the 4th to 5th years of M.Sc./M.S./M.Math./M.Stat. the degree will receive a monthly stipend of INR 7,000 and an annual contingency grant of INR 28,000 per annum.
