Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh today said that a Common Eligibility Test (CET) for job aspirants will be conducted across the country from early 2022. NRA would be conducting the CET recruitment exam in the nation and most probably, the first CET exam is going to be conducted in early 2022 for all the government job aspirants as announced by Union Minister.
The NRA will conduct CET to screen and shortlist candidates for jobs in the government sector for which recruitment is presently carried out through the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), and Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS).
The CET was scheduled to take off before the end of this year, but is likely to get delayed on account of the COVID pandemic, he said. Dr Jitendra Singh further added that the primary aim to conduct CET is to ensure that all the candidates are provided with a level playing field irrespective of their socio-economic status and background.
The Common Eligibility Test will prove beneficial for women and physically challenged candidates for whom appearing in multiple tests is not financially viable and is difficult for them to travel to various centers.
