Tarkeshwar Prasad Varma College, Narkatiaganj, popularly known as T.P. Varma College, Narkatiaganj is situated in Narkatiaganj sub-division of West Champaran district of Bihar, near Indo-Nepal Border and is dominated by tharus, Dhangers schedule caste, minorities schedule tribes and economically backward classes. After the death of Tarkeshwar Prasad Varma the College was established in 1971 by Smt. Savitri Varma, his brothers Sri Umesh Varma and Sri Singheshwar Prasad Varma. The Contribution of Ashish Varma and Alok Varma can never be forgotten in the history of the college. The College became a constituent unit of B.R.A. Bihar University in 1980.
The College has permanent affiliation and recognition by Govt. of Bihar in the faculty of Arts and Science. The Contribution of the present Principal Dr. Vimal Varma and earlier Principal Dr. Vinod Varma is significant in developing a holistic vision for the growth of the college. During his tenure the college has been granted affiliation for several subjects in addition to the different Vocational courses like BBA, BCA and B. Ed. as self-financing scheme. The College has also been accredited with B grade by NAAC in 2017. Recently under the able leadership of Dr. Vimal Varma, the College plans to introduce UGC sponsored job-oriented Certificate and Diploma courses in Agriculture, Food Processing, Tourism and Hospitality, and Accounting and Taxation under the NSFQ category.
