National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is an entrance examination held by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for students aspiring for undergraduate courses undergraduate medical (MBBS), dental (BDS), and equivalent AYUSH (BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, etc) courses in government and private institutions in India and also, for those intending to pursue primary medical qualification abroad. NEET 2025 is to be conducted in 11 languages once this year.

The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test or NEET is a single entrance examination for medical aspirants looking for admission to medical courses across the country. NEET is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). NEET 2025 (previously known as AIPMT) will be conducted on 1st August 2025. The exam will be organized once a year. It is the undergraduate-level examination conducted for admission to medical courses such as MBBS/BDS.
For the NEET Exam 2025 session, NTA is set to conduct NEET on August 1, 2025, in an offline mode. As per NEET-UG 2025 latest news, there will be no change in the NEET 2025 exam pattern. On the basis of NEET 2024, admission to 542 medical, 313 dental, 15 AIIMS, 2 JIPMER, 914 AYUSH, and 47 BVSc & AH colleges will be granted.

If candidates wish to appear for the exam then they have to upload a self-declaration form in the prescribed format. It must be noted that incomplete, unsigned, or photocopies of the self-declaration will be summarily rejected.

Candidates taking part in NEET 2025 can visit the official website for NEET to fill out the application form available from July 2025 onwards. Candidates can fill in the application form through online mode only and no offline mode. Click on the “Apply Online” link and get directions.
How to fill NEET Exam 2025 Application Form?
1. NEET 2025 Application process will be completely carried out online mode. No other mode will be accepted for filling out the application form.
2. Candidates are advised to submit only one application form as multiple application submissions may lead to rejection of the form.
3. Students at the time of the registration are instructed to register with their valid email id and mobile number as all the communication or other details will be sent to it.
4. The NEET application process will go through various steps – Online registration, filling up of details in the application, uploading of a scanned image of photograph & signature, making payment of application fee, and printing of application & fee payment receipt.
5. Candidates who have made mistakes while filling the application form will be able to make corrections in the details of the application from February 2025.

NEET 2025 Exam Pattern

A total of 180 MCQs is asked in the NEET exam from Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology). Each question carries 4 marks and 1 mark is deducted for every wrong answer. However, considering the reduction in the syllabus by various boards, NEET 2025 Question paper will have internal options.

NTA NEET 2025 admit card is an important document and will be used by the authorities as well as candidates at various stages of the admission process. Candidates must make sure to keep their login credentials with themselves to download the NEET admit card 2025.

Candidates can apply for NEET only through the online process -

3. Enter the details asked – application number, date of birth, security pin.
4. Click on the Submit button. It will redirect you to the NEET Admit card page.

NEET Counselling 2025
1. NEET 2025 counselling will be conducted by the Directorate General of Health Sciences (DGHS) on behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The counselling of NEET 2025 is being conducted online and candidates who wish to participate in this process have to register themselves on the official website of MCC.
2. State-level counselling for admission to MBBS and BDS courses, which will be conducted by various representatives of the state governments.
3. AYUSH counseling will be conducted for admission to BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, etc.
The MBBS /BDS seats are filled through NEET UG all over the country
For 15% of all India quota seats, the counselling will be managed by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Government of India. The candidates who will score above 15% All India cut-off would be able to participate in All India counselling.
The seats will be allotted as per the all-India rank of the candidate and filled choices. Candidates, who will participate in this counselling will also take part in state quota counselling of their respective states.
The seats are filled in the following categories:
1. All India Quota Seats.
2. State Government Quota Seats.
3. Central Institutions /Universities/Deemed Universities.
4. State/ Management/ NRI Quota Seats in Private Medical/ Dental.
5. Colleges or any Private University.
6. Central Pool Quota Seats.
Note: The counselling for the All India Quota seats will be conducted in two rounds. The seats left vacant after the first round will be carried forward to the second round. However, the seats left vacant after the second round of NEET counselling 2025 will be transferred to the respective state quota. The seats left vacant in the AIQ quota of Deemed Universities/ Central Universities/ ESIC colleges will be filled through a mop-up round of NEET 2025 counselling.
