GATE exam (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is a computer-based standardized test conducted at the national level in India with an aim to examine the understanding of various engineering and science undergraduate subjects.
GATE exam is conducted in online mode (Computer Based Test) at various centers spread in different cities across India, as well as, in six cities outside India. The GATE exam centers comprise eight zonal centers under which various cities are listed where a national-level engineering postgraduate entrance exam is conducted. Moreover, candidates should be aware that GATE scores are valid for three years only from the date of the announcement of the results.
Every year, GATE Exam is conducted jointly by either of the IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee on a rotational basis. GATE 2023 will be having two more new papers, Marine Engineering & Naval Architecture as one of the papers, and Geomatics Engineering.

GATE Exam 2023 Important Dates
The candidates who have been looking forward to M.Tech admission, other PG courses or PSU recruitment through GATE must fill out their application form for GATE 2023. Candidates must register at the GATE Online Application Processing System to access the GATE application form (GOAPS). Only qualified individuals were allowed to complete and submit GATE applications before the deadline.
GATE 2023 score will remain valid for 3 years from the date of announcement of results. As announced by IIT Kharagpur, GATE 2023 will be held on 05th, 06th, 12th, and 13th February 2023.
GATE 2023 Application Form
IIT Kharagpur has started the GATE application form 2023 correction at the official website. Candidates have to log in at GOAPS 2022 portal to make corrections. Registered candidates can use the facility of GATE 2023 application form correction to rectify the defects.
Candidates are allowed to make changes in name, DOB, contact, university, or degree. Information such as exam paper, city, gender, category, and applicant details will not be open for correction. To access the GATE 2023 application form for correction, log in to GOAPS account.
How to Apply Online For GATE 2023 Exam?
The date of the GATE 2023 application is from 30th August 2021 to 24th September 2023. Candidates can check the steps to apply for the GATE 2023.
Step -1- Registration: Candidates have to register themselves through the GATE Online Application Processing System or GOAPs by entering their name, email id, and mobile number after which an enrollment id will be generated. Candidates have to change the password for future login purpose.
Step - 2 -Application Form: After completing registration, an application form will appear in which the candidates have to provide personal, academic, and qualification details. candidates will have to choose the preferred exam centers which are given above while filling out the online application form.
Step - 3 - Uploading Images: Once the candidate has filled out the application form, they have to upload the scanned copy of the photograph, signature, and category certificate (if applicable) as per the specifications of the exam authority.

GATE 2023 Eligibility Criteria
The candidates who are filling the online registration form for GATE 2023 should be a citizen of India. Candidates outside India can apply for the GATE exam 2023 if they meet the given eligibility criteria.
Nationality
Candidates need to fulfill the eligibility requirements for the admissions through GATE 2023 as mentioned below. The IIT Kharagpur will be announcing the eligibility criteria as applicable for the candidates willing to appear for the GATE exam 2023.
1. Must have completed or in the final year or in the pre-final year of their bachelor’s degree in engineering and technology or;
2. Must have completed or in the final year or in the pre-final year of their Post Graduate degree in any relevant science subjects.
Education Qualification
Those candidates who had already obtained a degree higher than the ones mentioned in the table, are also eligible to appear in GATE 2023 examination. Check the qualification for the respective degrees from the below table.
Age Limit
There is no age limit for appearing in the GATE 2023 exam. The candidates who want admission for a Master's degree require GATE qualified for any PSU recruitments.

The GATE 2023 Admit Card download date is out! The GATE organizing authority will issue the GATE 2023 admit card for the applicants on 3rd January 2023. To download your GATE admit card you need GOAPS Enrollment ID and password.
