Eligibility Criteria for Scholarship
1. The candidate belonging to ST should have passed the Post-Graduation examination for being eligible for the Fellowship. The candidate should get admission and registration for regular and full time M.Phil/Ph.D Courses in University / Academic Institutions recognized by UGC under Section 2 (f) of the UGC Act / ICAR by fulfilling conditions of admission of that University/Institution.
2. The ST students once considered eligible for the Fellowship shall not be entitled for any other scholarship of the Centre or Stat e Government the same study.
3. The fellowship shall be payable once the student has secured admission and started the research work.
4. In order to qualify for Senior Research Fellowship a candidate will have to fulfill the UGC/ICAR norms prescribed in this regard.
5. The total family income of the candidate to be eligible for this scholarship from all sources should not exceed Rs.6.0 lakh per annum.
6. The scholarship shall be payable once the student has secured admission and started attending the classes.
7. The scholarship awarded, will continue till the completion of the course, subject to satisfactory performance of the student.

Step 3: Now click on 'Click here for other Scholarship Schemes hosted on NSP for AY 2024-25'.
Step 4: Read the guidelines carefully, select the undertaking, and 'Continue'.
Step 5: Select the state of domicile, scholarship category (Pre Matric), scheme type (scholarship scheme), gender, and write the applicant's name, date of birth, mobile number, and email ID.
Step 6: Provide the bank details (Bank name, IFSC Code, Account Number)
Step 7: Select Aadhaar or Bank Account Number as identification detail and click on the 'Register' button.
Step 8: The mobile number will be verified and an OTP will be generated.
Step 9: Now, log in using OTP and fill out the application form.
Step 10: After successful submission of the application form, an application ID and password will be generated which can be used for future references.

Benefits For Fellowship -
A total of 750 fellowships will be awarded. In case of the nonavailability of an adequate number of Scheduled Tribe candidates, the number of fellowships not availed during a year will be carried forward to the next academic session. There is no State/University wise ceiling on the number of slots.
For the M.Phil programme, the students will be awarded -
1. A fellowship amount of INR 25,000 per month.
2. A contingency amount of INR 10,000 per annum for Humanities & Social Sciences and INR 12,000 per annum for Science, Engineering Technology.
3. HRA amount as per the rules of the corresponding institution.
4. Escorts/reader assistance of INR 2,000 per month for physically handicapped and blind candidates.
For Ph.D. programme, the students will be awarded -
1. A fellowship amount of INR 28,000 per month.
2. A contingency amount of INR 20,500 per annum for Humanities & Social Sciences and INR 25,000 per annum for Science, Engineering Technology.
3. HRA amount as per the rules of the corresponding institution.
4. Escorts/reader assistance of INR 2,000 per month for physically handicapped and blind candidates.
Benifits For Scholarship -
1. A total of 1,000 scholarships will be awarded. There is no ceiling in the institutions-wise and stream-wise number of slots for the Top-Class institutions.
2. Full tuition fees and other non-refundable dues in respect of Government/Government funded institutions (Note - There will be a ceiling of INR 2.50 lakh per annum per student for private sector institutions.)
3. An amount of INR 3,000 per annum per student for books and stationery
4. An amount of INR 2,200 per month (Note - The amount will be provided as per actuals subject to a maximum ceiling of INR 26,400 per annum.)
5. An amount of INR 45,000 will be given as one-time assistance for computers and accessories.
