The SJVN Silver Jubilee merit scholarship is a joint venture between the Central Government of India and the State Government of Himachal Pradesh. It was incorporated by SJVN Ltd, a Mini Ratna and Schedule' A' Central Public Sector Undertaking by the Ministry of Power, Government of India. This scholarship aims to contribute to society through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by providing financial avenues to meritorious students.
SJVN is a Mini Ratna and Schedule public sector undertaking company based in Himachal Pradesh. As part of the company’s CSR initiative, SJVN Foundation provides scholarships to meritorious students known as “SJVN Silver Jubilee Merit Scholarship Scheme.” Under this scheme, scholarships are awarded to the students based on merit base. To provide financial assistance to meritorious students from economically weaker sections to help them pursue higher education and achieve their academic goals.

Eligibility Criteria for SJVN Silver Jubilee Merit Scholarship
1. Students who have passed Class 12 in the current academic year from schools in states where SJVN operates (primarily Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, and Maharashtra).
2. The scholarship is typically open to students pursuing professional courses such as Engineering, Medical, ITI, and other undergraduate courses in recognized institutions.
3. Specific academic performance criteria (percentage of marks obtained in Class 12) are required for eligibility, which may vary slightly each year.
4. The selection is based on the merit of the candidates, taking into account their performance in Class 12 examinations.
5. Preference is often given to students from economically weaker sections and those who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance.
Selection Process for SJVN Silver Jubilee Merit Scholarship Scheme
After completing the online application, applicants will go through a selection process determined by the SJVN agency.
The selection procedure involves the following:
1. Applicants will be selected based on merit, where their grades will be considered.
2. In the second round, candidates will be invited for a screening test. Where their documents and testimonials will be reviewed.
3. If sufficient applications are not submitted by the applicants, the students of other boards may be selected with the permission of the SJVN Chairman.
4. The scholarship is generally awarded for the entire duration of the course, subject to the satisfactory academic performance of the student each year.
Scholarship Rewards
The students belonging to the states of Uttarakhand, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, and Maharashtra can avail the benefits of the SJVN Silver Jubilee merit scholarship scheme. The amount sanctioned to the shortlisted students under this scholarship program is mentioned in the points below:
1. Around 250 students will be awarded scholarships of INR 2,000 per month for pursuing a regular graduation course after class 12th.
2. The eligible candidates will receive a total amount of INR 72,000 for a three-year degree course.
3. They will receive INR 96,000 for a four-year degree course. Similarly, the deserving candidates will receive the SJVN scholarship amount of INR 1,20,000 for a five-year degree course.

1. First visit the official website of Himachal Consultancy Organization, otherwise visit http://himcon.org.
2. On the homepage, click on “SJVN Silver Jubilee Merit Scholarship Scheme”.
3. Next, click on “Student Registration” option.
4. Click “Choose File” and upload your photo.
5. Enter State and Board details like Session, State, District, Scheme Affected (Area Name), Board, Father’s Name, DOB, Email and Mobile Number.
6. Enter Permanent and Correspondence Address i.e. Address Line 1, Pin Code etc.
7. Provide school name and address details like board name, stream, roll number, year of pass, grade obtained, percentage.
8. Upload attested copy of 12th class mark sheet (Format: .jpg or .jpeg).
9. Enter bank details like bank name and address, IFSC code, account number.
10. Fill the certificate from the head of the college/institute accordingly and then click on the save button.
11. Download the hard copy of the application and send it to the official address along with the documents.
