Pragati Scholarship is a government scholarship scheme implemented by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Under this scholarship scheme, a total of 5,000 scholarships are disbursed every year among meritorious girl students for pursuing technical education.
The scholarship scheme aims to empower young girls with knowledge, skills, and self-confidence so that they could contribute to the development process. Students will be awarded up to INR 50,000 per annum for every year and other benefits.
Pragati Scholarship – Eligibility Criteria
1. In order to apply for the Pragati Scholarship, the girl candidates must be studying in an AICTE approved college/institution.
2. Be pursuing a technical degree/diploma course in the First year or Second year (through lateral entry only) on the basis of the percentage of marks obtained in the 10+2/equivalent examination.
3. Two girls per family are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
4. The annual family income of the applicant must not be more than INR 8 lakh during the preceding financial year. In case the applicant is married, the income of parents/in-laws is considered, whichever is higher.
5. The scheme is only applicable for the girl child.
6. In addition to 5,000 scholarships at point number 2, all eligible girls who submit online scholarship form, from the following 13 Union Territories and North Eastern States i.e. Andaman and Nicobar Islands (UT), Jammu and Kashmir (UT), Ladakh (UT), Dadra and Nagar Haveli & Daman and Diu (UT), Lakshadweep (UT), Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim & Tripura will be given a scholarship by AICTE.
7. While selecting the candidates for the disbursal of the Pragati Scholarship, 15% of the total seats are reserved for SC, 7.5% for ST, and 27% for OBC candidates.
Pragati Scholarship - Benefits
The selected students will receive INR 50,000 per annum for every year of study as a lump sum amount towards payment of college fees, purchase of computers, books, stationery, equipment, software, etc. No other additional grant will be payable in lieu of hostel charges and medical charges etc.
Through this scheme, financial assistance will be provided to students so that they can continue their education without thinking about the financial burden. With the help of the scholarship scheme, all the students will get the basic right to education.
Document Required
1. Candidate Mark sheet of class 10 and 12 (as applicable)
2. Annual family income certificate for the previous financial year in the prescribed format issued by an official, not below the rank of Tahsildar.
3. Admission letter for getting admission in a degree/diploma course issued by the Directorate of Technical Education Certificate issued by the Director/Principal/Head of the Institute Receipt of tuition fee.
4. Bank account passbook seeded with the Aadhaar card indicating applicant's photograph, account number, and IFSC code Caste certificate (applicable for SC, ST, or OBC candidates).

6. Duly signed declaration by parents confirming the accuracy of information provided in the application form.
